John Delmar Woods

Woods, John Delmar, age 72 of South Knoxville, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2002 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home. He was retired and former co-owner of Smalls Drive-In in Athens, Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy where he was awarded the Good Conduct Korean Service, China Service and United Nations Service Medals. Preceded in death by parents, Delmar and Myrtle Woods and sister, Genell Johnson. Wife of 47 years, Effie Woods; sister, Joyce Allen of Georgia; devoted brothers, Robert "Bill" Woods and wife, Betty of Knoxville and Ron Woods and wife, Lorna of Nashville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends will meet 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for graveside services.
