Martha Hartman Sexton

Sexton, Martha (Hartman), of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. She was a member of South Knoxville Baptist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She retired after 43 years of service with South Central Bell. She is preceded in death by father and mother, Herbert F. and Eva J. Hartman, and husband John T. (Jay) Sexton. son, David F. Sexton and wife, Martha J. Sexton; grandson David J. Sexton and wife Deanna; grandson Thomas Scott Sexton; great-grandsons, Garrett, Nicholas, and Bryson Sexton; and special aunt, Pearl Griggs. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thorn Grove Baptist Church building fund at 10200 Thorngrove Pike, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871. Graveside service Wednesday, 11:00 AM, Woodlawn Cemetery with Dr. Ted Padgett and Rev. Tim Tatum officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
