COCKRUM, MABEL, age 96, born April 3, 1905, of Knoxville, passed away March 27, 2002 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Member of Park Lane Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence A. and Russia Varnell Roberts; husband, G. Ralph Cockrum; daughter, Jo Ann Barnes; grandsons, David and Jerry Barnes, Terry Cockrum, and David Johnston; 1 grand-daughter, Libby Henley; and brother, Alger Roberts. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jeanette Cockrum of Knoxville, son, Jack Cockrum of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Jim Clark of Knoxville, and Carolyn and Bill Johnston of Knoxville; grandchildren, Mark Henley, Becky Grooms, Danny Henley, Kenny and Russell Cockrum, Penny Clark, Brian Johnston, Donna Barnes Moore, Cathy Kelley, Elaine Roach, Andy Cockrum; 18 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 P.M. Friday Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Gale Lyons officiating. Interment 11:00 A.M. Saturday Greenwood Cemetery.
