Frank C. (Pete) Pickens

Pickens, Frank C. (Pete), age 83, passed away Monday, June 17, 2002, at the home of his daughter in Lafayette, Louisiana. Mr. Pickens was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid bowler for many years. He was a photo engraver at Capper Engraving until his retirement and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Pickens was preceded in death by his parents, Frank C. and Nora Shields Pickens; and his wife, Evelyn Wray (Polly) Pickens. Son, Michael A. Pickens and wife, Bobbie of Knoxville; two daughters, Judy P. Garber and husband, Jim of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Martha P. Bates and husband, Mike of Brentwood; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 19, 2002, 2:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Mount Olive Baptist Church music ministry. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
