Quentin R. Caldwell, Sr.

Caldwell, Quentin R., Sr., age 82, of Concord, formerly of South Knoxville, departed this life on January 20, 2002 at 1:15 a.m. at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. Retired from Lakeshore Mental Health Institute as an Upholstery Instructor. He founded the original Knox County Rescue Squad, which was chartered on January 5, 1957. He also served as a Knox County Deputy and Safety Coordinator over lakes and waterways. He is a 33rd degree Mason and member of the Shriners. Loving wife of 61 years, Lena Caldwell; daughters: Beatrice Cox of Mascot; Peggy Myers of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Caldwell, Jr., of Clarksville, Indiana; sister, Helen Socha of Ocala, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 niece; 1 nephew. Funeral service 8:00 PM Monday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain George Dobler, Rev. Mark Large officiating. Interment 1:00 PM Tuesday, Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
