She graduated from the University of Tennessee and received a Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University in New York. She taught in Elementary and High Schools in both Tennessee and Kansas. When her son took over the farm, she and her husband moved back to Knoxville where she taught school until she retired in her 70’s. Leo died April 12, 1980 and she continued to live in Tennessee until the early 1990’s when she moved back to Kansas to live with her eldest son in South Hutchison. She entered the Pleasant View Home in the Spring of 2000. Annie is survived by her children, Barbara Lou Ghormley-Appleby of Littleton, Colorado; Harold Eugene Ghormley of Partridge, Kansas; David Augustus Ghormley of Knoxville, Tennessee; Margaret Ann Ghormley-Lee of Homewood, Alabama; and Martha Ruth Ghormley-Singh of Calgary, AB, Canada.
