Murphy, Lucille Colquitt, age 87, passed away Monday, January 14, 2002 at Baptist Hospital. She was the oldest female member of the South Knoxville Church of God. Preceded in death by husband of sixty-nine years, Thomas E. Murphy and son, Robert Glenn Murphy. Son & daughter-in-law, Dr. Lynn and Betty Murphy of Dalton, Georgia; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law: Andrea and Robert Harthoorn and Julie and Chris Scoggins all of Dalton, Georgia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Billie Sue and Jack Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service Wednesday 8:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ray McCranie, Joe Sentell, Rev. Robert Branch, and Rev. Tommy Bellamy officiating. Interment Thursday 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Scoggins, Robert Harthoorn, Raymond Tinsley, Todd Burnett, Jim Burkhart, Tommy Russell, Jack Smith, Ken Talley, and Bill Colquitt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Senior Adult Ministry c/o South Knoxville Church of God, 5623 Magazine Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
