James G. Childress, Sr.

Childress, James G., age 59, of South Knoxville, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at 7:15 PM at the home of his son, James, Jr. Son of the late Herman and Sara Childress of Mt. Olive. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife and friend, Nora Lee Childress of Dandridge, TN; their three children, Jamie Lewis and her husband, Mark and daughter, Lyndsey; James Childress Jr. and his son Cristopher and daughter, Ashley; Yandell Childress and wife, Mellisa and son, Aaron and daughter, Brooke; one aunt, Martha Trevena; sisters, Laverne Cash and husband, Ruben; Beverly Perry and husband, Bobby; Mary Grace Bumby; best friend, Earl Lamb; many nieces and nephews; nurse Carol and the wonderful UT hospice family. Funeral service Saturday 11:00 AM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Buster Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
