Wilma Jeanette Carter (Spires) Coker

Coker, Wilma Jeanette Carter (Spires), age 75, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a long-time resident of South Knoxville, and long-time member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church. Retired from UT Hospital, she was also employed at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. Gillis and Mrs. Minnie Johnson Spires of Knoxville and Mr. Glade Carter of Lake City; husband, Millard D. Coker, and sister, Betty Lou Mellon. Sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Terry, Duane and Cynthia Terry of Clinton; daughters and sons-in-law, Clayton and Donna Hauff Yarbrough of Macclenny, FL, Janice Hauff and Bruce Shell of Knoxville; daughter, Nancy Morgan of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Gary, Christy, Kathleen, Missy, Jason, Deanna, Patrick, Eric; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Cory, Morgan, Hannah, and Grayson. Funeral service Friday, 8:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Blazer officiating. Interment will be Saturday 2:30 PM, Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Hipsher, Patrick Morgan, Eric Terry, Gary Terry, Randy Mellon, Sam Spires, and Mike Mellon. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
