Levator Ford

Ford, Levator P. “L.P.”, age 80, of South Knoxville, went to with the Lord, February 28, 2002 at Baptist Hospital. Member and Deacon of Lincoln Park Baptist Church where he was also a member of The Golden Notes and Celebrations choirs. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. Preceded in death by father, Levator P. Ford, Sr.; mother, Pearl Berry Ford; and sister, Mildred Ford Morgan. He had many friends and loved his church. Wife of 60 years, Betty Levy Ford; children: L.P. Ford, Jr. “Buster” and wife, Phyllis; Byron Edward Ford and wife, Sandra; Deanna Sue Kelley and husband, Allen; Dora Jane “Dodie” Fisher and husband, Alan; grandchildren: Mark Alan Ford, Kristina Lynn Carrigan, Kenneth Wade Ford, Michelle Leigh Underwood, William Todd Kelley, Thomas Aaron Kelley, and Deanna Kristin Kelley; 7 great-grandchildren; niece, Gail Morgan Wood of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Funeral service 8:00 PM Saturday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ted Ingram, Rev. Keith Walker, and Dr. Allen Kelley officiating. Interment 2:00 PM Sunday, Highland Memorial Cemetery with full military honors performed by Volunteer State Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
