Josephine Ledbetter Hembree

Hembree, Josephine Ledbetter, age 87, of South Knoxville, passed away February 20, 2002 at Baptist Hospital. Member of Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, George Hembree; two stepsons, Dillard and Maynard; one daughter, Flo Byrd; son, James Hembree and several brothers and sisters; parents, James Manual Ledbetter and Annie Lurena Shields Ledbetter. Daughter Lois and Bob Hauser of Hillsboro, Ohio; daughter, Ruth Fox and husband J.R. Fox of Knoxville; son, Dewey A. Hembree and wife, Lily of Knoxville; 32 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Rachel Pack of Maryville, Tennessee, Katherine Caylor of Townsend, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Eugene Wilder and Elder Phillip Hoskins officiating. Interment Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
