Emily Thelma ''Sammie'' Trotter

Emily Thelma “Sammie” Trotter, age 94 of Gatlinburg, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at Fort Sanders-Sevier Nursing Home. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gatlinburg. Mrs. Trotter was born in the Wears Valley community of Sevier County September 6, 1907. She married Samuel Edward Trotter August 23, 1926 and together they owned and operated Trotters Restaurant for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward Trotter, son, Samuel Edward Trotter, Jr., and grandson Edward Browning Trotter. Survivors: Daughters: Betty Napier Emily Sue Richardson and husband Wayne Son: Tom Trotter and wife Diandra Grandchildren: Susan Pickel Roseann Napier Donnie Napier David Napier Tom Trotter, Jr. Great Grandchildren: Michelle Flanigan Nicole Miller Ricki Payne Jamie Pickel Austin Trotter Karson Trotter Shelly Napier Kristi Napier Travis Napier Emily Ann Napier Samuel Napier Several Great Great-Grandchildren and nieces and nephews Funeral service 6 PM Friday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Rieger officiating. Family and friends will meet 10 AM Saturday at Shiloh Cemetery for interment with Dr. Charles Bryant officiating . Pallbearers will be Tom Trotter, Jr., Donnie Napier, David Napier, Mark Flanigan, Allen Cox, Heath Soehn. The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
