Mattie Ree Hester Knowlton

Knowlton, Mattie Ree Hester died on Thursday, August 8, 2002 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the widow of Frank Gibson Hester, who preceded her in death in 2002. Her parents, the late William Thomas and Corrie Joyner Robinson of Atmore, Alabama; her sisters, Mildred Robinson Lowrey, Willie Mae Robinson, and a brother, Otha Leo Robinson preceded her in death. Mrs. Knowlton was born in Robinsonville, Alabama on March 25, 1912. She taught school in Atmore and Montgomery and was employed with the state of Alabama for 25 years. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church for 43 years. Two daughters, Patricia Hester Neal of South Carolina and Jeanne Hester Mitchell of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Annex. The family will greet friends after the service and requests that flowers be omitted.
