Edith Irene Allen Hurst

Edith Irene Allen Hurst, age 83 of Pigeon Forge went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2002. She was born in the Wilhite Community of Sevier County on May 10, 1918. She had been living at the Sevier County Health Care Center. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge and had been employed by Apple Tree Inn Restaurant in Pigeon Forge for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Minnie Allen; stepmother Lillie Allen; brothers Hugh and Clifford Allen; infant son Rex Hurst. Survivors: Children: Hollis Hurst and wife Bobbie Nell King and husband Eddie Wayne Alma Laurent and husband Richard Grandchildren: Lisa Taylor and husband Brett Stacy Sharp and husband Tom Gary Hurst Joseph Laurent Great-grandchildren: Bradley and Drew Taylor Brandon and Lori Sharp Funeral service 2 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Parton and Rev. Lynn McElyea officiating. Interment will follow in Eledge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:30 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
