Gilbert Knott

Knott, Gilbert C., age 85, of Seymour, passed away at the home of his daughter, Friday, September 21, 2001, after a short illness. He was a member and deacon of Meridian Baptist Church. He was retired from Nabisco Foods as a district manager. He was an avid fan of UT football. He was a loving father and grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Jess and Ann Knott; wife, Ellen; son, Larry Knott; and sister, Roberta. Survived by daughter & son-in-law, Betty Jo and Ronnie Gregg of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Jean Knott of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren: Ricky Gregg and wife Kim of Knoxville; Vicki Evers and husband Ron of Greensboro, North Carolina; Larry Knott and wife Sherry of Blythewood, South Carolina; Vinsant, Gill, and Beth Knott of South Carolina; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral service Sunday 8:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Interment Monday 11:00 AM, Highland Memorial Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers: Larry Knott, Vinse Knott, Gill Knott, Ricky Gregg, Sam Martin, and David Coulter. The family requests donations be made to the Mission Home at Meridian Baptist Church, 6513 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. www.berryfuneralhome.com
