Clarice Marie Ramsey Bible

Bible, Clarice Marie Ramsey, age 86, of South Knoxville, passed away Monday, October 1, 2001 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on April 20, 1915. She was a longtime member of South Knoxville Baptist Church, where she helped organize and direct a ministry for children at Baptist Hospital, as well as being very active in WMU. She was an avid reader and had a sharp mind capable of carrying on conversation in a wide variety of topics. Clarice had a love for humanity and was sensitive to the needs of others, and handled life with dignity and resolve and will leave us all with the fond memories. She was preceded in death by husband, Newton Edgar Bible; parents, Will and Rose Ramsey; daughter, Rebecca Johnson; sister, Vera Chapin; and brother, Wendell Ramsey. Sons & daughters-in-law: Dana and Faye Bible, West Palm Beach, FL; Mark and Karen Bible, Jefferson City; son-in-law, Bill Johnson of Chattanooga; grandchildren: Eric Johnson of Chattanooga; Amy Graham of Lake Worth, FL; Kevin Johnson of Powder Springs, GA; Cary Bible of West Palm Beach, FL; Jennifer Machiela of Boynton Beach, FL; Jon Bible of Jefferson City; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Garrad “Buster” Ramsey of Maryville, TN; Knox Ramsey of Kilmarnock, VA. Funeral service 8:00 PM Thursday at Berry Chapel with Dr. Walter Isley officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Friday Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to South Knoxville Baptist Church, 522 Sevier Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920 or Lighthouse Community Church, 7209 C Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday before the funeral in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
