HAWS, HELEN LEOTA - age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Baptist Hospital. Member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. She worked in the office of Sunshine Biscuit Company in the 1950s and 1960s. Preceded in death by parents, John and Alice Hutchins; husband, Henry D. Haws; sisters, Stella Bell and Mary Elizabeth Nelson. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Janet and William E. Mason; grandchildren, Christine Mason, Billy Mason, and Clark Short; brother-in-law, Rev. Howard Eugene Haws; sisters-in-law, Andra Haws and Hazel Haws; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, Berry Chapel, with The Very Reverend Dean John C. Ross of St. John's Cathedral of Knoxville and The Reverend Howard E. Haws, Retired Priest of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Maryville, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William E. Mason, Billy Mason, Clark Short, Jim Self, Fred Needham, and William E. Mason, III. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. www.berryfuneralhome.com
