John Creswell

Creswell, John Ellis, Jr. (J. E.), age 78, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly at his home March 27, 2001. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and a faithful and avid fan of UT football. Mr. Creswell was founder and owner of Creswell & Company, Inc. and remained active until his retirement in 1984. He served in the U S Air Force during WW II. Preceded in death by parents, Ellis and Daisy Creswell of the Boyd's Creek Community; brother Francis Creswell, 2 sisters, Lucille Creswell Peace and Edith Creswell Wade. . He will be deeply missed by daughter Susan Creswell and husband Thomas A. Cervone; daughter Jean Creswell and husband Don Barger; daughter Cathy Creswell, grandchildren: Ivan Haworth, Holly Haworth, John D. Creswell, Jillian Creswell, Emily Maggard; brothers: Jim Creswell, of Maryville; Bruce Creswell, of Knoxville; Robert Creswell, of Chattanooga; sister, Margaret Clevenger, of Knoxville; many nieces, nephews and friends. His grandchildren would like to express their gratitude for his presence in their lives. Graveside service 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Boyd's Creek Cemetery, Dr. G. Steven Sallee and Rev. Stephen B. DeFur officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers Jim, Bruce and Bob; sons-in-law: Thomas and Don; grandsons: Ivan and John.
