McLemore, Robert E., Sr., age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001. He was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the Knoxville News-Sentinel. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II as a First Lieutenant with the 185th Engineers and Artillery in the European Theater. He was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of South Knoxville Lodge #769 F & AM; 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite; member of ACACIA Chapter of the Eastern Star; member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1733. He belonged to the Kerbela Temple where he was a member of the Directors Staff. He was a volunteer of South Knoxville FISH Pantry. He was a lover of music and a leader of the Prospector's Band for several years. He was preceded in death by parents, GC and Carrie McLemore; brothers Foye, Ralph, Harmon, and Clyde McLemore. Survivors:Wife of 55 years:Imogene Summers McLemore Son:Robert Ellis McLemore, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lake Forest Presbyterian Church Building Fund 714 Lake Forest Drive Knoxville, TN 37920 or South Knoxville FISH Pantry 115 Ogle Street Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, Lake Forest Presbyterian Church, Rev. Kirk Werner officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Seaton Warters, Fred McPeake, Ken Norton, Millard Cox, Eddie McLemore, and Wally Andrews. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
