Glenn Alfred LaFollette, age 86 of Pigeon Forge, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at his home. Glenn was a long-time Sevier County resident. He and his father were farmers and worked over most of Sevier County thrashing wheat for friends. He was Supervisor of Shiloh Memorial Cemetery since 1991 and gave it up last year due to his health. He worked diligently to make the Shiloh Cemetery beautiful. For many years, Glenn worked with his wife Marjorie, who owned Fine’s Jewelry in Sevierville. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sevierville. He was preceded in death by his parents George Luther “Doc” LaFollette and Florence Ellen Brown; brothers Victor, Hobert and Clifford LaFollette; sisters Mrs. Minnie (Ted) Householder, Mrs. Lyda Erwin; an infant brother and sister; first wife Mary Elizabeth (Everette) LaFollette. Survivors: Loving wife of 27 years: Marjorie Fine LaFollette Sons: Charles Ray LaFollette of Stanfield, NC Larry LaFollette and wife Mary Lou of Pigeon Forge Gary E. LaFollette of Columbia, SC Daughter: Sharon (LaFollette) Koester and husband Bob of Sevierville Grandson: James Larry, Jr., Drew, Gary, Jr., and Travis LaFollette Granddaughters: Rebecca Elizabeth Matthews, Alysia Cook, Libby McCandless and Traci Taylor 8 great-grandchildren Step-son: Charles Fine, Jr. and wife Anita Step-grandson: Charles Fine, III Step-granddaughter: Tangie K. Lusby Step-great-granddaughter: Kaylie Brooke Lusby Nieces: Mrs. Lillian (Jimmie) Paxton of Greeneville, TN Mrs. Betty (James) Casey of Kingsport, TN Mrs. Barbara McGill of Gatlinburg Ms. Sarah Lyn LaFollette Nephews: Brian LaFollette of Knoxville,TN William LaFollette of Nashville, TN Robert LaFollette of Alcoa, TN Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Dr. Grant Jones, Chaplain Phil Gross, Rev. Andy Ball, Rev. Bill Maples officiating. Interment 10 AM Friday in Shiloh Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the CAB Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church- Building Fund, 317 Parkway, Sevierville,TN, 37862 or Baptist Home Care/Hospice, P.O. Box 22, Knoxville,TN, 37901.
