Jerry Leon Richards

Richards, Jerry Leon, age 51, passed away Saturday evening December 15th at Baptist Hospital. Jerry had a contagious sense of humor and left his mark on everyone that knew him. He was a thoughtful; loving and giving man, who found happiness in helping others. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Charles Martin Richards and brother Charles, Jr. Jerry had a large family and much larger extended family. Wife and soul mate, Debra, daughter Alyson of Los Angeles, California; son, Richey Fennell of Knoxville; mother Hazel Pauline Richards; loving sisters and brothers-in-law: Brenda and Gaines Scalf, Linda and Jerry Breeden, Pat and Ira Lumpkin, Betty and Randy Hale, all of Knoxville; Eula and Leroy Scalf of San Diego, California; brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond and Helena, Joe and Vickie of Knoxville, and Bill of Long Beach, California; step-son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Mandy Huffaker; father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Wanda Dockins; sister-in-law Barbara Hall; numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a member of IATSE Local 197 and leaves many Union brothers. Pallbearers will be nephews Lee and Darryl Richards, Scott and Charlie Richards, Travis, Curt and Cory Richards, Michael Moore and Justin Hale. Honorary pallbearers will be Union brothers of IATSE Local 197. Funeral service 8:30 PM Monday, Marbledale Baptist Church, with Rev. Lee Chorn and Rev. George Pressley officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Tuesday Asbury Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM Monday at Marbledale Baptist Church. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
