Harold C. Thornock

Thornock, Harold Charles “Chub,” having lived a very happy, full, and productive life returned to our Heavenly Father on December 14, 2001. He was born to Bertha S. and James A. Thornock on April 3, 1913 and raised in the Bear Lake area of Southeastern Idaho. In 1938 he married Cecelia Voltz. Harold and Cecelia were married for 37 years and raised six children. In 1975 he lost his wife to cancer. During his life he worked as an Ironworker Union, a business agent for the Ironworkers Union and a Labor Relations Coordinator for Morrison Knudsen (MK) and retired from MK in 1977. He married Laura DePalo in 1977 and moved to Knoxville, TN, where he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, wife Cecelia, two sons Robert and James, and one stepson Vincent LaSors His wife Laura Thornock, residing in Knoxville; sister LaRue Piggott of Bloomington, Id; his children Ann and Curt Gauss, Peter and Paulla Thornock, and Joseph and IvaLou Thornock all of Idaho Falls, ID; and Katy Dingeldein of Boise, ID; two step-sons, Michael LaSorsa and wife RoseMarie and Anthony DiChiro; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held in Boise, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, make memorials to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909. Berry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
