Fred Whaley,75, of Sevierville died Friday Dec. 14, 2001. He was the owner and operator of Kelly Grocery Store in the New Center community for 26 years. Mr. Whaley was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church for 47 years and a Deacon of Bethel Baptist Church for 25 years. He is a current member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. He was a Veteran of WW II. Preceded in death by his parents, Calvin & Mettie Whaley; Grandson, Joshua James Whaley; brothers, Murrell, Clon, Glenn, and Herbert Whaley; Sisters, Lillie Trotter and Myrtle George Survivors: Wife of 52 years; Ruby Kelly Whaley Sons & daughters-in-law; Edwin & Cathy Whaley Phil & Emily Whaley Daughter & son-in-law; Sharon & Jerry Loveday Grandchildren; Shawn Whaley King & husband Marc Brad Whaley Kelly Loveday Matthew Whaley Zachary Whaley Jordan Whaley Jacob Whaley Great Grandchildren Whitney Whaley Alec King Sister; Stella Reagan Sister-in-law; Irene Whaley Ima Ruth Heidt & husband Ralph Sara Kelly Brother-in-law; Walt George Funeral service 7 P.M. Monday at the First Basptist Church, Sevierville. Rev. William Cope, Rev. Melvin Carr and Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Interment 11 A.M. Tuesday in Smoky Mt. Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. The family will receive friends 4-7 P.M. Monday at First Baptist Church in Sevierville. Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville in charge.
