Geraldine Hamblen Foster

FOSTER, GERALDINE HAMBLEN - 76, died suddenly April 25 of a stroke at River Park Hospital in McMinnville, Tenn. She was a native of the Knoxville area and had retired in McMinnville. A lifelong lover of the outdoors and an avid recreational vehicle enthusiast, she generously shared her expertise with friends new and old. She was an early member of the Smoky Mtn. Hiking Club and her community service included Girl Scouting, the American Red Cross and the YMCA. Her service to others continued in her 20 year career at the Tennessee Department of Human Services. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School and the University of Tennessee. She is survived by friend, Nancy Ford, McMinnville; daughter, Teri Foster, Knoxville; son and daughter in law, Dr. G. Sam Foster and Missy Maturo of Starkville, Miss.; brother and sister in law, Hubert and Louise Hamblin and sister, Virginia Simmons, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Sarah Schow, Matthew Elmore, Rachel Foster, Andrew Foster and Adrienne Sloan; nieces and nephews, Bobbie Moore, George McGoldrick, Pam Jackson, and Diane Sampley; many great nieces and great nephews and other special friends. Visitation of friends 3 p.m. and the memorial service at 4 p.m. will be at the Church of the Good Samaritan, Knoxville on Saturday April 28.
