Joy Raymond Clabo

Clabo, Joy Raymond, age 81, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2001, at UT Hospital. He was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, Faith Bible Class, and Methodist Men. Retired from Rohm and Haas with 35 years service. He graduated from Pi Beta Phi High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was a World War II Veteran having served 3 years in the European Theatre and 2 years stateside with the 1st Field Artillary, Obsn. BN. He was preceded in death by parents, Pinkney and Viola Clabo. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Louise Shular Clabo; daughter, Connie Gupton; granddaughters: Jessica Gupton, Holly Rader and husband Brandon; great-grandson, Skyler Rader; brothers and sisters: Shirrell and wife Jean, of Virginia; Frank and wife Cecil of Gatlinburg; Armalee and wife Virginia, of Virginia; Marjorie and husband Ralph Galyon, of Maryville; June and husband Don Watson, of Gatlinburg; Edna and husband Gene Wood, of Virginia; Betty Jo and husband David Warwick, of Florida; Louise and husband Earl, of Virginia; Howard and wife Jeanie, of Virginia. The family will receive friends in the chapel at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church on Monday, April 16 from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM with services at 7:30 PM., Rev. Robert Countiss officiating.
