John R. Cotter

COTTER, JOHN RAY - age 66 of Halls, passed away Friday April 13, 2001 at 5:05 a.m. at home with respiratory failure. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired local #519 Teamster and a US Navy veteran serving with the Korean conflict. Preceded in death by parents, M.L. and Maude Cotter; sister, Jewel and brother, M.L. (Buster) Cotter, Jr. Survivors: wife, Faye; son, Johnny Cotter, Jr. and wife, Tara; step children, Doug Vandergriff and wife, Debbie, Robin Underwood and husband, Jay, Penny Behrens and husband, James; sisters, Jackie Mazzella and Mildred Tenney, both of Ariz.; sisters in law, Evelyn Cotter, Helen Lunsford, Wanda Webber, Libby Bowman, and Julia Raines; brother in law, Dee Raines; father in law, Rev. Beryl Webber and wife, Lilly; step grandchildren, Adam Bruner, Jennifer Bruner, Lori Underwood, Brittany Underwood, Kara Vandergriff, and Storm Behrens; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday at Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel with Rev. David Walker officiating. Pallbearers will be Marty Webber, Tim Beard, Tony Cox, Mike Sharp, Doug Fielden, and Raymond Bell. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr.
