WARD, JOSIE WALKER - born April 14, 1912 in Little Greenbrier in the Smoky Mountains, passed away at 11:04 Sunday at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls. Faithful lifetime servant of the Lord and member of Eight Ave. Church of God and Dutch Valley Church of God for over 50 years. Preceded in death by husband, James David Ward. Left to cherish her memory; devoted son and daughter in law, Jim and Joan Ward devoted grandson, J. David Ward, III; sister and brother in law, Margorie and Otis Shelton of Maryville; a host of loving nieces and nephews; adopted grandson, Frank Harrison; special friend, Peg McKissick. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday with the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Dutch Valley Church of God with Rev. Jack Dean and Rev. Corky Alexander officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers: Andy Hurst, Calvin Hicks, Tony Metler, J.V. Doan, Jr., Rev. Jim Mulkey, Rev. Darren Hatfield, Jim Taylor and Rubel Harrison. Honorary pallbearers: Rev. Daniel Lynch, Harold Fowler, Joe Doan, Sr., Roy Conley, Francis Cain, Raymond Pruitt, Alvin Wood and Jack Starkey. Family requests donations to the Scholarship Fund at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr.
