Frederick A. Mapes

Mapes, Frederick A., age 71, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away May 18, 2000 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was an Honor Graduate of Knoxville High School and the University of Tennessee where he was president of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He retired from Roddy Manufacturing Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Major in the US Army Reserves. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Weisner Mapes; father, Robert E. Mapes; mother, Nina D. Mapes; and brother, Robert E. Mapes. Wife: Sarah R. Mapes Funeral service 5:00 PM Sunday, St. John's Lutheran Church, Pastor J. Stephen Misenheimer and Pastor L.C. Sparks officiating. Interment Monday 10:00 AM, Lynnhurst Cemetery.
