Darden, Samuel Joseph, Sr., age 90, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2000. Charter member and past Elder of Woodlawn Christian Church; 21st degree Mason and member of the York Rite. Retired from US Postal Service with over 35 years of service. Owned and operated Kay Nursing Home in South Knoxville. Preceded in death by grandson, Benjamin Darden; brother George A. Darden; sister Lou Ella Tawes. Children: Don Darden and wife Glenda; Bill Darden and wife Johanna; Sam Darden and wife Kathy; John Darden and wife Suzanne; Becky Overton and husband Jim; Barry Darden Graveside services Saturday, 3:00 PM, Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
