James Oren Norvell

Norvell, James Oren, age 80, died Saturday, July 8, 2000 at Baptist Hospital. He was a retired pharmacist who briefly served the Oak Ridge and Madisonville areas before moving to Knoxville where he worked for and retired from Revco Drug Stores. He was a member of Vestal Methodist Church. He proudly served the country he loved in the US Army during World War II, after which he returned to Knoxville, attended UT Knoxville, and graduated from the School of Pharmacy at UT Medical School in Memphis. He was married for 48 years to Beverly Rose Emert Norvell, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ella Tomlinson Norvell and Henry Oren Norvell; brothers E. Eugene Norvell, and Howard V. Norvell. Sons and daughters-in-law: James H. Norvell and Ann Kennedy; Gary F. Norvell and Teresa J. Norvell, all of Knoxville; David E. Norvell and Chris S. Norvell, of Loganville, GA Graveside Service 11:30 AM Tuesday, Woodlawn Cemetery, Rev. Stewart White and Rev. Kirk Werner officiating. Military Honors will be performed by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Gideons International PO Box 1452 Knoxville, TN 37901.
