Rex Houk Helton, age 62 of Sevierville, died Tuesday December 5, 2000. He was an employee of ALCOA and a member of the Aluminum Brick Workers Union, and attended the Church of God. He was an avid horseman and a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association, East Tennessee Walking Horse Association, W.H.O.A. Walking Horse Association, Tennessee Racking Horse Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard & Pearl Helton; brothers, Ray Helton & M.T. Helton; father-in-law, Garfield Parton. Survivors: Wife: Beulah Helton Daughter & Son-in-law: Melissa & Steve Maples Sons & Daughters-in-law: Steve & Lisa Helton Kenny & Tina Huskey Grandchildren: Cory Maples Blake Huskey Beau Helton Taylor Helton Brittany McKinley Jessica McKinley Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Buford & Bobbie Helton Wayne & Barbara Helton Sister & Brother-in-law: Janice & Theron Tarwater Sister-in-law: Doris Helton Mother-in-law: Mrs. Garfield (Lillie) Parton Funeral service 10 AM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Parton & Rev.Leroy Parton officiating. Interment to follow in Caton’s Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Helton’s co-workers from ALCOA. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
