Helms, Earl A. - age 71, of South Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 1999, at Baptist Hospital. Preceded in death by son, Chris Helms. Retired from Rhom & Haas with 37 years of service. Member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband and father. wife of 49 years: Jeanette Helms; son and daughter-in-law: Rick and Alisa Helms; son: Bob Helms; sons and daughters-in-law: Ken and Debbie Helms, Scott and Robin Helms; grandchildren: David, Marybeth, Josh, Ryan, and Colby Helms; 1 great grandchild: Macy Nicole Shehan. Funeral 11:00 a.m. Friday Berry Chapel, Rev. Dewey Cooper officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
