Annie W. Alexander

Alexander, Annie W., age 93, of Knoxville, passed away April 3, 1999. Preceded in death by husbands, Raye Nile Byrd, Joe D. Alexander, and son Dr. Ray Nile Byrd, Jr. Member of Graystone Presbyterian Church. Member of Knoxville Women's Club for 60 years. Board member of East Tennessee Children's Rehabilitation Center, Arthritis Foundation, and Easter Seals. She was the First Lady of Knoxville in 1975. Survived by son: Dr. William G. and wife Betty Byrd; stepsons: Mr. Rick Alexander and wife Elaine; Mr. David Alexander and wife Delores; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Graveside service 11:00 AM Monday, Highland Memorial Cemetery, Rev. Mark Knisley officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Beta Sigma Phi's First Ladies of Knoxville.
