Mildred Evelyn Batten Tipton, age 83, of South Knoxville, passed away Friday, October 2, 1998 at Baptist Hospital. Member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church, Loyal Banner Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. Preceded in death by husband Ollie James Tipton, and grandson James David McCall. Sons and daughters-in-law: David Oliver and Gayle Tipton; Richard Lynn and Julie Tipton Funeral Service 8:00 PM Sunday Berry's Chapel, Chapman Hwy. Rev. Dennis Ford and Rev. Charles Turpin officiating. Interment 2:00 PM Monday at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday.
