A couple has been arrested for a burglary that took place in Sevier County.
Marsha L. Gardner, 31, and Howard Helton, 29, both of Sevierville, face charges after a neighbor reported a robbery at a home on Smoky Mountain Queen Road.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said at approximately 11:45 p.m. Dec. 29 the Sheriff’s Office received a call from the neighbor stating that someone was breaking into the house across the street from them.
Officers arrived on the scene about 15 minutes later and found that the home had been burglarized and the perpetrators had fled in a vehicle.
Officials on the scene were able to identify the vehicle and went to a nearby mobile home park where deputies found it parked at a residence.
Detectives were summoned to the scene where they made contact with the residents of the mobile home, then searched the home and found the items reported stolen from the burglarized home.
Gardner and Helton both were charged with Aggravated Burglary and are in Sevier County Jail awaiting a hearing in General Sessions Court.
