Two Sevier County Sheriff Deputies were recently recognized as Officers of the Year by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, East Tennessee Region.
Deputy Aaron Foster was awarded the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) 2011 DUI Officer of the Year.
Sevier County Sheriff’s Corporal Gary Kent nominated Deputy Foster for the award, stating that “Deputy Foster is a young officer and according to our records had the most DUI arrest of any officer within our agency so far for 2011. He has a passion for traffic safety and is a very good officer.”
Deputy Bob Bundren received the Governor’s Highway Safety Office 2011 Traffic Enforcement Officer of the Year.
Corporal Kent stated in his nomination letter that “Deputy Bundren has given over 30 years of his life to Traffic Safety including retiring from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He has a passion for Traffic Enforcement and the safety of others on the roadway. He continues to be consistent each day in performing his duties, including traffic citations, DUI stops and traffic crashes including Crash Reconstruction.
“Bob is an officer that can be counted on every day and in every situation.”
The Governors Highway Safety Office, East Tennessee Region, recognized Six Law Enforcement Officers as “Officers of the Year” and Nine Officers as “DUI Officers of the Year.”
