PIGEON FORGE - Tennessee Shindig is presenting the 4th annual Western Jamboree: Cowboys & Indians from Feb. 19 to 21. This year, the theater is officially sponsoring the city’s Saddle Up! Celebration, which takes place that week.

Cowboys & Indians will be featured in three main acts:

Roy Rogers Jr. & the High Riders

Hailing from the Happy Trails Theater in Branson, Mo., Roy Rogers Jr. and his seven piece band, the High Riders, will be returning to take center stage once again at the jamboree.

Winner of many western music awards, the son of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans does very few open dates outside of their Roy Roger and Dale Evans Museum and theater in Branson.

Dusty is well-known for his exceptional performance of his father’s songs and relating many personal stories about his parents from his childhood.

Native Spirit

Native Spirit is a Native American music and dance group based out of Arizona, featuring world champion Native American dances from different tribes all across the United States and Canada.

Native Spirit has performed in many venues all over the world, including the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. The group features Brian Hammill, a member of the Ho-chunk nation from southern Wisconsin. He is an accomplished hoop dancer, constantly ranked among the top 10 in the world.

His performance includes many intricate maneuvers creating various symbols significant in his life. Hammill founded the Native Spirit Dancers in 1997 as a way to share native culture and dance with various people from all over the world.

Tennessee Shindiggers

The Shindiggers will be performing western music and humor as well, including top-ranked western comedian and yodeler Tammy Gislason from Alberta, Canada.

The theater will also be debuting its newest entertainer, Elvis impersonator Cody Slaughter. The 17-year-old has a reputation for his “early Elvis” tribute that has won him respect as a performer and a loyal audience and fan club. Slaughter has been performing his tribute for almost five years and has won national recognition.

He was a finalist in the “Worldwide Images of the King Championship” in Memphis, Tennessee in 2006 and 2007. Also, in 2007, he won the “Peoples Choice Award” in that same contest.

Slaughter has performed at several venues in Branson, and shot and starred in a Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party for MTV in the summer of 2008.

He will be making his debut at Tennessee Shindig with the Cowboys & Indians Jamboree, where he will perform songs from an assortment of Elvis’ western movies.

Cowboys & Indians will include all three acts beginning at 7 p.m.

All who wish to reserve may choose between two special offers - either $5 off admission price or a free all-you-can-eat dinner at Great American Steak & Buffet.

Tennessee residents with their identification may enjoy both offers. Sevier County residents may receive half price on Thurs., Feb. 19, if they prefer the show only.

Call 888-908-3327 and reserve seats now, as this event always fills up quickly.

Tennessee Shindig is located at Light #2 in Pigeon Forge.
