A two car wreck on Chapman Highway in front of Bob’s Mountaineer Restaurant trapped the driver of one of the vehicles.

On May 10th 2008 5:15 PM the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an auto accident at 10321 Chapman Hwy.

Firefighters arrived to find a two vehicle t-bone collision. The driver of a 1997 Lincoln Towncar was trapped in his vehicle in critical condition.

His female passenger was also critically injured in the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle, a red Nissan pickup, was uninjured.

Firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

He was removed within 10 minutes of SVFD's arrival.

Life Star was requested and landed two aircraft in the Dollar General Market parking lot adjacent to the accident scene.

Sevier Co. Ambulance Service, Sevier Co. Rescue Squad, Sevier Co. Sheriff's Department, and Tennessee Highway Patrol also responded to the accident.

A left turn at 5:00pm onto Chapman Hwy without a traffic light is dangerous.

according to tn law, you will need 4 more deaths to get a red light installed

Not if the driver pays attention and doesn't get in a hurry. Besides you think enough traffic flows in and out of Bob's to warrant a traffic light?!

#6 Traffic Light commented, on May 12, 2008 at 8:11 a.m.:

Bob's will never have a traffic light, it's too small to meet TDOT standards and it's expensive.

If the accidents numbers get too high, TDOT will redesign the entrance. Most likely an island which restricts left turns.

Sevier County intelligence or lack thereof is interesting to observe and can be deadly at times. What is the kill limit on Chapman Highway before a divider is installed to stop the slaughter.

no one should be eating this trash food...and if no one goes into this dump..no one can get hurt pulling out..I am so sorry that this dear woman lost her life...
