house fire sunday sends one to hospital

Sunday just before noon the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 1635 Old Chilhowee Road for a structure fire.

The Firefighters arrived to find a single story home fully involved in fire with partial roof collapse.

Property owner Mark Solesbee was home when the fire started and was transported by Rural Metro Ambulance Service to UT hospital for smoke inhalation. His injuries were believed to be non life threatening.
Seymour Support 2, Engine 4, Engine 12, Engine 15, Squad 18 and 15 firefighters responded to the fire.
Blount Co. Fire Department also responded with an engine, tanker and seven firefighters.
Firefighter remained on the scene until 3 PM to assure no restart of the fire.
