sevier county’s promise annual volunteer drive re-scheduled

Due to the snowy weather Sevier County’s Promise had to re-schedule its Volunteer Drive. As in years past this important  event coordinates area agencies with needed volunteers.

The Volunteer Drive had many area high schools scheduled to attend the February 27th event. “We get several area high schools to bring buses of kids to the drive every year. They are signing up to volunteer and that is wonderful,” says Loveday. “However, we didn’t want to put anyone at risk in such bad weather so we thought it was best to cancel the event and re-schedule for another time.”

Loveday also added that the Sevierville Community Center has been very gracious about scheduling the gym for Sevier County’s Promise. “The Community Center is such a busy place but they have worked with us to re-schedule as soon as possible.

The new Volunteer Drive date is slated for March 20, from 10am to 1pm, in the Sevierville Community Center Gymnasium. People are encouraged to stop by on their lunch breaks to explore the fair and sign up with an agency. If you are an agency looking for volunteers booth spaces for the drive are still available, at no cost, by calling (865) 428-7999. Does Loveday have a first name? Just curious as the story left that out.
