County Commissioner Judy Godfrey was again on the hot seat recently at another group North Knob Creek meeting concerning her unpopular voting practices.
This group, different than the North Knob Creek Community Association (NKCCA), met recently to discuss their concerns of a serious lack of planning, lack of infrastructure, and the concern
of several violation of the Sevier County Zoning Resolution.
This Knob Creek Group wonders how and why the Sevier County Commissioner, Judy Godrey, along with her counterparts could approve rezoning of property without first and foremost, complying
with the Zoning Resolutions enforced by the Sevier County Regional
Planning Committee.
The commissioners will address these concerns at the upcoming Monday evening County
Commissioners Meeting.

The commissioners will address these concerns at the upcoming Monday evening County Commissioners Meeting.
The main concern of the group is the proposed rezoning of what is known as Sharp Farm, near Lexington Place in Seymour. The group discussed concerns for the blanket approval of developer’s rezoning requests.
According to the Sevier County Zoning Resolution, in order to approve zoning to R-2 it states . . . any R-2 district shall be served by public water and sewer systems
The Knob Creek Community is presently not served with sewer, therefore all of the property that has been rezoned is in violation of their own rules.
To make matters worse, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) issued a Notice of Violation last July to the Sevierville Water and Sewer Department, the municipality in charge of the sewer. (View the letter by clicking on the attachment) The violations were regarding several sewer overflows onto the public streets.
The Sevierville Water and Sewer Department had presented TDEC a plan to satisfy the problem by July of this year (View the letter by clicking on the attachment). Several local citizens have asked to be placed on the agenda at the commissioner’s
meeting.
Bob Stahlke, City of Sevierville Public Information Officer, to the Seymour Herald the Indian War Path Pump Station Project is presently under contract with Brockwell Construction, a Newport, TN company and the equipment shop drawing are being reviewed.
The estimated construction start date is set for sometime in May / June 2008 with a completion date around October of this year.
Boyd's Creek Pump Station is in the final stages of design and is in negotiation with the property owner to purchase property for the pump station and verifing overhead electric concerns with KUB.
The Anticipated Bid Date for the project is set for May / June of this year with an Estimated Construction Start Date of June / July 2008 with a potential completion date around January 2009.
The meeting promises to be a living one. There were nearly 140 citizens at last month’s meeting.

I hope everyone will come to the meeting on Monday. The "ethics" committee will also be meeting on Monday afternoon at 4 PM in the same room upstairs in the courthouse. There are several ethics complaints to be discussed.
The Mountain Mess reports that the ethics meeting will be at 3:00.
Could they have changed it to minimize the number of citizens who wish to participate?
They don't want us there do they.
The meeting is still set for 4pm today - Monday. The MM is mistaken.
