A two story house fire at 7315 Remagen Lane in south Knox County drew four Seymour Volunteer Fire Department Engines and 16 firefighters Thursday afternoon around 5:07 P.M.

Upon arrival SVFD found a 2 story home with fire along the outside wall extending into the attic.

The homeowner kept the fire in check with a garden hose until firefighters arrived.

The fire was deemed under control at 5:35

Less than an hour later at 6:11 P.M. SVFD responded to a brush fire in a wooded area adjacent to Majestic Meadows off of Boyd's Creek Hwy.

Engine 7 arrived and reported a fairly fast moving 1 acre fire.

Engine 7 and Truck 6 along with eight firefighters quickly controlled the fire.

No injuries were reported.

If you are planning a controlled fire, it is imperative to obtain a burn permit from the Tennessee Division of Forestry prior to burning. The TDOF phone number to contact is 429-7020.
