It probably would have been called for vandalism if not for the weather.
This is the third time in two weeks, according to Green.
“We just put up four ceiling fans that were donated and they even tore each blade off of each of them,” Green told the Seymour Herald.
Jenni Sanjorjo also came to the field to inspect the damage.
“We are so feed up with this mess happening all the time,” said Sanjurjo.
There were broken beer bottles, garbage dumped everywhere, picnic tables turned up side down and locks broken.
“It’s a never ending process,” said Green. “We fix one thing and they break or destroy another.”
Green said he was just at the Sheriff’s office Friday asking that they give the park extra patrol due to the increase in damage.
“I’ve even asked the constables to drive by, which they have at 3 PM in the afternoon which does absolutely no good. I told them to come by in the night because I drive by here myself at least two or three times each afternoon and evening.”
The park is completely maintained by Green and a few committed supporters.
Just recently the Clayton Trust gave the Park $8000.00 with which they purchased a zero radius turn mower.
“We are in desperate need to funds to really make this park something that the entire Seymour Community can be proud of,” Green explained.

WHO CARES
#1
You should care or maybe you are the one that done it. Shame Shame Shame
I recall hauling my kids all over the place for them to play ball. Now we have one right here in Seymour and some punk enjoyed tearing it up. I hope you are caught and the judge gives you hard labor at the park every week
When something that matters to you gets destroyed, we'll feel the same way. It's a shame that this has happened to the park. Jim puts his blood, sweat and tears into this park for the good of the community. I hope they catch the low lifes who did this
It's really sad that some citizens feel the need to destroy others property. I hope they catch the ones that did this and punish them. I'm thinking community service for this park. They can paint and repair their damages.
We can't have anything nice here in Seymour because there is way to much trailer trash like #1 living here. Maybe if we had more people who actually work for a living, pay taxes and don't depend on the government or their county job for income, speak up we could get rid of these lowlifes.
a great big AMEN!
#5 What makes you think it's "trailer trash"? Just because a family lives in a trailer doesn't mean they are less than you are correct? Glass houses ..sham on you.
I know several boys my son plays sports with that live very well indeed that could be capable of this. Don't judge others by where they live or what they live in. It makes you no better than those that trashed this property!!!!!!!!!!
It is not the kids that live in trailers. It is the rich, spoiled, I am better than you are kids that their parents have raised them to think they are better and have more than others. If they would try to catch them they could... They don't try.
#7 and 8, you BOTH totally missed the point of #5's comments. This person's comments had nothing whatsoever to do with anyone's residence of choice or annual income. #5's comments were geared to the lazy, non-contributing members of our community. Of course it doesn't matter to Jim Green what type of structure you live in, you can go to the park and offer your help as many of us have instead of being so defensive of your obvious low self-esteem issues.
Many people have worked extremely hard along with Jim Green, and contributed money to make the park what it is today, a fun safe place for the kids of Seymour to come and play. It makes no sense for someone to come in and take things away from kids, and that is what the person or persons that did the damage to the park. They took things away from the kids. It would be so nice to find out who did the damage so I can help put them in jail where they belong. It takes a real coward to vandalize.
the cars don't even patrol at night they come by in the afternoon come on I know sevier county isn't in the parks and rec business but surely they can help keep the parks safe
where is it?
#8 ........Hmmm how do you know what #5 meant by the "trailer trash" comment? Did you write that? How do you know I don't help at the park? You assume a lot don't you. I'm not being defensive nor do I have low self esteem issues. I didn't say anything about Mr. Green. In fact I think it's a wonderful think he is doing for our community. It just really pushes my buttons when I see people judging others by their home, car, clothing, etc. My children are punished for comments like that. I just don't agree with the comment left and really think it's being very judgemental.
buy a cheap camera. about 50bucks. hide the vcr some where inside. buy some 8hr tapes. keep them recording several days. you may be able to catch them that way. and add a motion light.
I know this won't solve all the problems but by the way the picture looks, someone could stand to haul off the trash, at least the thugs wouldn't have that to throw around
#15 We empty the trash cans as soon as they are full. We cannot leave the dumpster open as people put their household trash, tv's etc. in our dumpster. This meant we were paying to have it emptied much too often, so we empty the trash cans when they are full. Thanks to all for your comments-here's hoping we catch these idiots.
To #13 Seymour Resident - ??? Is second your comment addressed to #8 or were you answering #9? After reading your first comment, it seems you were answering #9 and not #8. Seesh, you don't seem to comprehend what you read do you? But sign me up as a park volunteer!
