As well as area food ministries, just to name a few.

“Volunteerism is a great way to play a more active role the community. So many people want to be more active but are unsure of what is available to them. The Volunteer Drive makes is so easy to get a good view of what the volunteer needs are,” says Kim Loveday Director for the Sevier County Resource Center and Chair of Sevier County’s Promise.

Loveday also added that because Sevier County’s Promise is focused on youth the Volunteer Drive is a great way to find volunteers for youth supporting organizations but it is also is a catalyst to get youth to volunteer and play a more active role in their community. “We get several area high schools to bring buses of kids to the drive every year. They are signing up to volunteer and that is wonderful,” says Loveday.

This year’s Volunteer Drive will be held on February 27th from 10am to 2pm, in the Sevierville Community Center Gymnasium. People are encouraged to stop by on their lunch breaks to explore the fair and sign up with an agency. If you are an agency looking for volunteers booth spaces for the drive are still available, at no cost, by calling (865) 428-7999.
