According to Sevier County Sheriff’s Office an arrest has been made in connection with the burglary of a Pigeon Forge Police Department Detective’s cruiser.
Captain Jeff McCarter, of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit states that Dectective Matthew Cubberley arrested William N. Johnson, age 32 of 515 Panther Creek Road, Sevierville.
McCarter states that Cubberley was working on the case and gained information about the suspect. Following the lean, Cubberley went to the suspect’s home on Wednesday evening where Cubberley recovered several items, including all the weapons belonging to Pigeon Forge PD.
The investigation is continuing at this time and Johnson may be tied to other burglaries in Sevier and surrounding counties based on evidence found at the home.
The B.A.T.F. has been contacted and federal charges may be placed on Johnson in connection with the possession of the fully automatic weapon and a felon in possession of a weapon.
Local charges of theft and auto burglary have been placed against Johnson at this time. Johnson also has outstanding warrants for auto burglary in Knox County. Johnson will be held without bond pending a hearing in General Sessions Court.

how were the weapons stored in the cruiser? Usually you don't hear about guns being stored or stolen out of police cars.
