The Treasures From The Heart Thrift Store will host a fashion show here on Saturday, May 3 to raise money for the work of Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries (SMARM).

The event will be held from noon until 2 p.m. at the Girls and Boys Club of Gatlinburg adjacent to Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.

Tickets are $10 each and children under 10 years old get in free when accompanied by an adult.

All of the clothing and accessories used in the show will be items from the thrift store. All of the outfits will be auctioned off during the silent auction.

There will also be other items for auction at the event. Many of those items will be from the thrift store also.

Pattie Robinson, Dot Egli and Cindy Black, all SMARM board members, are working hard pulling all the details of the event together. Liz King has graciously volunteered to decorate the Girls and Boys Club gym for the event.  Marci Claude has also worked with the committee sharing her past experience in the Knoxville market with fashion shows as fundraisers.

Models like Cyndi and Cait Bowling, Cami Webb and Lindley Houston are already being fitted with clothes for the runway.

Webb has been a supporter of SMARM for many years. In the past, she and her dad, local artist G. Webb, painted a set of watercolors for SMARM that were used and are still being used as fundraisers for SMARM. G. Webb painted the title piece, “Streams of Mercy” and Cami painted the companion piece “Faithful Friends”. The painting and notecards continue to be sold at the G.Webb gallery and through SMARM.

The fashion show event will also highlight some of the other items sold at the Thrift Store. There will be small displays of items such as furniture, house wares, books, and home décor. All of the items on display from the thrift store will be available for purchase.

For more information and tickets contact the SMARM office at 908-3153.
