motorcycle accident sends rider to hospital

An accident between a motorcycle and an SUV threw the 20 year old motorcycle rider approximately 50 feet from the point of impact Friday morning at 7:17 A.M.

The accident, which occurred on Chapman Hwy at Joy Street, near the CNB Bank, was reported by firefighter/EMT-IV Elaine Keiffer. She immediately contacted fire dispatch via radio and requested a full alarm response and an aero medical helicopter as she saw the severity of the accident.

The motorcycle rider was critically injured. Life Star was dispatched and landed at the Dollar General Store.

Rural Metro Ambulance Service transported him to the landing zone.

Squad 3, Engine 4, Squad 18,and 8 firefighters responded to the accident.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
