man shot, woman found dead

According to Sevier County Sheriff, Ron Seals, the Sevier County Central Dispatch received a 911 call on Sunday 9/23/2007 at approximately 10:30 am to assist in locating a possible fire in the area Spruce Court and McCarter Hollow Road.

Sheriff's Officers and Pigeon Forge Fire Dept. were dispatched and after arriving on the scene found the home located at 2289 Spruce Way engulfed in flames

In addition, a male subject that has sustained a gunshot wound to the chest was on the ground, outside the home.

That Victim, Johnny M. Dodgen age 51 of 2289 Spruce Way was transported to UT Hospital via Lifestar where he is listed in serious condition.

Upon extinguishing the fire, an unidentified body was found inside the home.

An autopsy will be performed on the Victim found inside the home to determine the identity and the cause of death.

At time of release the incident is being investigated by the Sevier County Sheriffs Dept. Criminal Investigation Division, Tenn. Bomb and Arson Unit and the Tenn. Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation is ongoing at time of release.
