seymour son seriously injured in baghdad

A roadside bomb near Baghdad seriously injured a Seymour son this past week.

Both legs of career soldier Brian Schar had to be legs amputated as he was injured in a roadside bomb near Baghdad, according to the family.

According to Kenneth and Cyndi Schar, his parents, Brian had his legs amputated below the knee due to the bomb that hit the vehicle he was riding in.

In time, the soldier will be transferred to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington D.C. According to his family, soldier Schar was a combat engineer with the 1st Infantry Division out of Fort Riley, Kansas.

Soldier Schar was on his second tour in Iraq in addition to a tour in Afghanistan.
