A woman was repeated stabbed in Kodak by her estranged husband.

According to Sheriff Ron Seals SCSD officers received a 911 call from 351 Ironwood Dr. in Kodak of a stabbing at approximately 9:00PM on Wed. Sept. 5th 2007.

Officers arrived and found a W/F, Kim Stepp, at the home that had been stabbed. The Victim told officers that estranged husband, Chris Stepp, had threatened to kill her earlier in the day and that at approxmately 9:00 pm she arrived at her parents home at 351 Ironwood and as she opened her car door Chris Stepp appeared and stabbed her several times in the head, torso and arm.

Victim stated that Stepp then fled on foot.

SCSD K-9 dogs were brought in to check the area but he was not located at that time.

The Victim was transported to Ft. Sanders Sevier Medical Center where she was treated and released after receiving over 300 stitches from the knife wounds.  

The assailant's vehicle was later found at the Laquinta Inn on Hwy 66.

The Suspect was arrested later in the early morning hours of Thursday 9/6/07 in Hamblen County by Hamblen County Sheriffs Dept. without incident.

Stepp was charged with Attempt to Commit 1st Degree Murder and Vandalism by Det. Johnny Bohanan and is in the Sevier Co. Jail under a $200.000.00 bond at time of release.
